A reliable, dependable and sturdy product for decades, Sunbrella tasked us with highlighting the luxury of their ethereal interior fabrics collection. High standards both in performance and design, this product needed the perfect environment — and an exhaustive location search was launched. I learned, early in my career at The Shade Store, that finding shoot locations was no ordinary process and offered a perfectly confusing mix of technology, construction and design. After many tiring hikes up steep steps, and with many a sustenance stop at a neighborhood bistro, we found our perfect location: the much-beloved home and interior design masterpiece of Athena Calderone. This artful home boasts generosity and elegance while gently still being suited to family living: the ideal canvas for Sunbrella.
