MOLLY PATTON DESIGN

 Art Direction / Photoshoot Styling

A New England classic reimagined to accommodate and welcome a large family while respecting the historical architectural intention.

The spaces that are designed for family life today are as varied as the families themselves. But the rules of common sense apply: good design is always appropriate design. Dana Ferraro allows room for privacy as well as community and chooses materials that are both elegant and sturdy. She uses such an approach to allow for touches of adult-sophistication and storybook-whimsy without compromising the fundamental functionality of the home. It all began the moment she walked in and saw that staircase and imagined her little boys running down on Christmas morning — Dana knew this house was her next, and most important, project.

Weston Traditional

In a bucolic Weston enclave, a former fashion editor has found the perfect suburban retreat, trading the energy of city life for the serene rhythms of the countryside. Dara Ferraro of Molly Patton Design has thoughtfully designed this traditional family home, blending classic New England charm with modern elegance. Each room reflects a balance between timeless design and personal warmth, where the editor’s impeccable taste shines through. Having styled the space for Connecticut Cottage & Gardens editorial, I hope the space captures both the quiet sophistication and cozy practicality this nostalgic haven reflects.
